H'ohboy! Gonna release the vinyl-only version of The Love Me Nots' latest release, Detroit. It'll be a limited edition of 500. Hand numbered sleeves, of course. I'm super proud.

Nicole has requested the vinyl be "Farfisa cream colored." We'll do our best. Can't let a woman in silver go-go boots down, now can I?

By the way, if you haven't heard Detroit, by god... Do yourself a favor and iTunes-purchase that nugget of garage rock goodness straight away.

Hi sugarplums! I've missed you. And the "business" of putting out records. That said, Project Infinity is pleased to announce that we'll be releasing a 7" by Wet Cassette (featuring members of Rolling Blackouts) sometime in the Fall. Been thinking of steering clear of the one original, one cover format as mechanical licensing is a pain in the assk me no more questions... Will fill you in with the details as soon as we get 'em. Which reminds me, I should email those guys right now... Ta ta.

Geisha Girls' 7" is available now. You can purchase it from the STORE or from the band directly at one of their shows. Speaking of, a Vinyl Solution in-store is happening 28 March 2007, where the band will have 50 Vinyl Solution-exclusive copies. Should be sweet. We're also working on an L.A. release show--possibly at the Smell.

Copies of the 7" are also available from Amoeba Records, Headline Records, Interpunk, and a few other places I'm sure.

Lastly, I'm happy to announce that Project Infinity will be releasing a 7" EP from Gabe's (ex-Starvations/Fortune's Flesh) new project, Jail Weddings. Gabe describes their music as "an updated take on the darker side of the 60s girl group blueprint, combined with mutant torch song drama." Can't wait!

Hello, and welcome to another installment of NEWS.

The Geisha Girls' 7" is nearly done, with artwork designed by Metal Giant. Check out how hot the cover sleeve looks on the STORE page. Speaking of the store, there are a few changes. One, if you live outside the U.S., please email us before you order to get shipping costs. I haven't quite figured out how to set up PayPal so that it automatically calculates shipping according to destination. I'm working on it. Also, if you live in CA and place an order, you'll have to pay 8.25% sales tax. Sorry, but we're legit now and if you don't pay sales tax, the government will make me (like they did last year). Definitely one of the coolest things you can do at the store is PRE-ORDER the Geisha Girls' 7" which will be released March 6. Just in time for the band to take a bundle on their way to Austin for SXSW.

Up next, This Blush's full-length platter. Sometime this Spring..

Greetings.

I've uploaded the new Geisha Girls songs on MySpace which will be released on vinyl in February 2007. I figure people will always find a way of hearing the songs, so I might as well just put 'em out there. That said, I'm guessing that the real collector will want one of the only 650 that Project Infinity will press.

"In the Monotone" is a Geisha Girls' original (unbelievable drumming!), while "Last Touch" is a Middle Class cover. Sweet.

Let me know what you think, ya? I hope I'm making the record geek in you proud.

As for the label itself, Geisha Girls' 7" in February, This Blush vinyl-only LP in March, and I'm super excited about the fourth release -- a 7" by UK's synthtastic sensation, Treasure Island Dizzy. They're huge fans of Bad Dudes and Chosuke. Can you tell? Besides, you have to love a band that writes a song called "Christopher Walken" (You remember Colonel Angus, don't you?)

A more complete web site update coming soon!

It's my sad duty to report that The Checkers have broke up. Unfortunately, as they won't be around to promote their release, I've decided not to press their 7". It's too bad, really, because they are a great bunch of people, and as a group, they were one of my favorite L.A. bands. I shed a pop-rock-bliss tear for them.

That being said, the Geisha Girls 7" is being pushed up a little bit and will probably be out by December. This Blush's full length vinyl LP will be out in February 2007, and will have a completely different cover than the CD version being released by IHeartComix Records. More soon(er) or later...

I'm way too tired to write more, but check out the ARTISTS page. Our little roster is growing! I'm super psyched to announce that we'll be releasing a two-song 7" from Geisha Girls, as well as a *very* limited number of vinyl-only, full-length LPs from This Blush. So yeah, The Checkers, Geisha Girls and This Blush--all out in the next half year. Whee!

10 Aug 2006

The Checkers tell me that they've finished recording their two songs for Project Infinity at Radio Beat studios. As soon as the mastering is complete, I'll upload 30 second clips of the songs here. Who doesn't love a sneak peak? Also, if you're wondering, the cover song they chose is "Needles in the Camel's Eye" by Brian Eno. Brian Eno. Checkers. Hmm... Yeah, I'm curious myself.

A few other new happenings--the 7" is now available from Sea Level Records in Echo Park, The Smell in Los Angeles and Razorcake Magazine.

On the download front, you can now obtain the Bad Dudes' songs from Napster and Rhapsody. iTunes and eMusic are on the way.

Lastly, Ryan Leach from LA Weekly wrote a really sweet preview pick for Bad Dudes' upcoming show at the Smell. He squeaked in some nice words about their Project Infinity release, too. Many thanks to this soldier of rock and roll. I've added a PRESS section to each of the band's pages (cheerful optimism) where you can check that out, or you can just go HERE.

12 Jul 2006

The 7" is now available at Amoeba Records in Los Angeles. Go get one now before the release date of July 18.

Also, our distributor, Disgruntled Music, was just sent a stash. The Bad Dudes sound will now be making its way all over the world via this little single. Excellent.

Lots of good news:

It's finally here -- Bad Dudes' "one original, one cover". We're taking pre-orders NOW, which will be shipped on 07/18. 400 7"s are on black wax, 200 are on Starburst-flavored half pink/half orange wax, and there's a super special limited number of 50 on white wax. All come with hand-numbered sleeves.

For you tech-heads, fee-based downloads will be available within the next month through iTunes, Napster and Rhapsody. I'm working on getting them on eMusic, as well. I'll post here and on the MySpace page when that happens. For now, though, in anticipation of having your own handmade CD of the two Bad Dudes' songs, feel free to download the artwork HERE.

In print news, I interviewed Bad Dudes for Razorcake magazine a few months ago, and that issue will be available on newsstands next week. Razorcake has 50 copies of the 7" to give away with the purchase of a zine subscription.

I also wanted to let you know that I'm trying to set up a release show at the Smell for August 03. Again, more info once that's a definite go.

Lastly, once the records are officially released you should be able to purchase them at Amoeba, Interpunk, and (I'm working on) Midheaven. The band will have a bunch at shows, too.

Next up, The Checkers, and the vinyl-only version of This Blush's full length.

I'm so geeked.

23 May 2006

Project Infinity t-shirts are now available for purchase in the STORE. I had to do get some product going as it seems like the Bad Dudes 7" is taking an eternity. Needless, John from Geisha Girls screened them for me, and I have say -- they're pretty sweet. Black tees with a dark baby blue PI logo. Just $7ppd.

28 March 2006

Hello. The website's only part-way there, but I'm pretty proud of the work Hillary Johnson's done so far, and I wanted to show it off a little. There's more good stuff to come in the next month or so, but while you're here, check out the 30 second clips of the two Bad Dudes' songs and let me know what you think.

7" coming soon, along with a celebratory record release show.

04 Feb 2006

I was in the studio today with Bad Dudes where they recorded two songs for Project Infinity with Ted Scarlett. Bands looking to record with a Pro Tools set up for cheap, do yourself a favor and check out Le Sweatshop -- a great little studio in Eagle Rock where you can record for $150 a day!

I've known Dan and Brady for awhile now as I was a huge fan of their previous band Miracle Chosuke, but have not really spent a good amount of time with them on a social level. Needless to say, all of the Dudes are rock-solid charmers who possess massive amounts of talent and charisma. I don't think I have to tell you that their two songs sound amazing! I'm blown away, and can't wait for you to hear them.

As for actual label stuff, with the help of a new friend from Plastic Idol Records, I've found an affordable place to press vinyl (Pirates Press). That said, I've happily nixed the idea of releasing CDs and am going to press the music on colored wax. The collector in me is pscyhed! As for you iPoders, fee-based, MP3 downloads will be available, along with downloadable artwork.
